"-Dadaland... While guns rumbled in the distance, we sang, painted, made collages and wrote poems with all our might. We were seeking an art based on fundamentals, to cure the madness of the age, and find a new order of things that would restore the balance between heaven and hell." (Hans Jean Arp)
This video is the lucky and extraordinary meeting between syncopated movements of the WW1 shell-shocked soldiers and the syncopated language of the Dada Poems (Raoul Haussmann's "the phonetic poems"). Part of the sound in the background comes from "Erratum musical" composed by Marcel Duchamp in 1913. Here an extract of this video.
