The rose generally refers to the red colour and to a pleasant and fragrant smell. GARLAND OF ROSES is the etymological traduction of rosary (lat. rosarium), a catholic object of prayers in honour of the Virgin Marie. the visual and olfactive memory is desorientated as the contrary of the roses is presented : It appears an object with a rosary form but white, immaculate, a ghost image with a persistent smell. Instead of the perfume of the flower, we smell something that remind us to a past memory, a smell that is in the grandmother's guard-robes : the naphtalene. The Rosary, as the naphtalene, belong to the past, I sometimes present it in a glass container, that makes it look like a relic, something holy but over.
